Hinduism is a major religion in India and, according to a 2001 census, Hinduism was followed by around 80% of the country's population of 1.2 billion (2012 estimate) (960 million adherents).[162] Other significant populations are found inNepal (23 million), Bangladesh (14 million) and the Indonesian island of Bali (3.3 million).
