Warning: You are about to launch into the dizzying world of Hindu theology. If your " Boring !" light is switching on, let me reassure you that the Hindus have some of the most interesting theology on the planet, If I may say so myself.
And I think if you get some of this stuff down, then later when we see how Hindus live their daily lives and what spiritual practices they actually perform, it will seem a lot less like "heathen superstition" and more like something truly beautiful, meaningful, and profound.
