The World Discovers Hinduism

" India Has created a mystique about itself. It is the sacred land for which everyone seeks. " So wrote the German philosopher George W. Hegel.

Since time immemorial, India has been synonymous with spiritual knowledge. Merchants from as far west as Egypt traveled to India routinely to benefit from its fabulous wealth, but pilgrims also made the difficult journey to sit at the feet of Hinduism's fabled spiritual masters.
Until recently, most modern Western scholars were reluctant to believe there'd been much contact between India and the ancient West. Recent archaeological finds, like the site of a Roman colony at Arikamedu in South India, prove them Wrong. We now know that Rome imported so many luxury items from India, it developed a massive trade deficit and nearly went bankrupt!
